After breakfast, tour Kathmandu's top holy sites. Begin at Pashupatinath Temple on the banks of the Bagmati River — the holiest Shiva temple in Nepal. Continue to Boudhanath Stupa, the largest stupa in Asia and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Afternoon visit to Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple) with sweeping valley views. Evening free in Thamel.
After breakfast, drive to Bhaktapur — the 'City of Devotees.' Explore Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Pottery Square, and the ancient bahals (courtyards). Continue the scenic drive up to Nagarkot Hill Station (2,195m) — check in to your mountain resort. Evening at leisure — enjoy the mountain panorama and optional walk along the Nagarkot viewpoint trail.
Wake before dawn for the legendary Nagarkot sunrise. On clear mornings, the entire Himalayan arc from Dhaulagiri in the west to Kanchenjunga in the east is visible — including Mount Everest. Breakfast at the resort, then hike or drive to Changu Narayan Temple (the oldest surviving Vishnu temple in Nepal, 4th century AD). Descend to Kathmandu. Free afternoon for shopping.
